The HELP-LINE is a toll-free, statewide, crisis intervention, information and
referral service that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, all year
long. The HELP-LINE, program of the Mental Health Association in North
Dakota for over 30 years, is unique in that it is always answered by a human
voice.
The HELP-LINE is accredited by the American Association of Suicidology and is
answered by trained staff and volunteers. The HELP-LINE answers between 6,000
and 8,000 calls per year from all across the state of North DAktoa, helping
callers with a variety of problems and issues including:
· abuse/neglect
· addiction problems
· aging services
· coping skills
· emotional/behavioral problems
· grief and loss
· legal/financial issues
· family violence
· assistance with basic needs of living
· rural/farm issues
· self-esteem
· suicide
· relationship issues
· mental illness
· homelessness
